Words Without Vowels

121 of them, all valid in ENABLE. Every playable word with no A, E, I, O or U.

A rack with no vowels is the worst hand in the game, and this is the list that rescues it. Most of these lean on Y or W doing a vowel's job—myth, crwth—and a few, like hmm and brr, have no vowel sound at all.

Knowing six of these is usually the difference between exchanging tiles and scoring.

What is in this list

Every entry here appears in ENABLE, so a word game will accept it. Scores are raw tile totals in Scrabble, with the Words With Friends score on hover—the two games value tiles differently, and the gap is largest exactly where it matters, on the high-value letters.
